Happy Birthday to my sister! We have a quiet evening planned to celebrate her 25! Frozen yogurt at an amazing place, some dinner, and then a chick flick. We live the good life. I can't wait until she comes up and visits tonight! I seriously can't imagine life without my sister. She's the best, and that's quite all there is to it!
So I got the boy moved up to DC last weekend, and it went pretty well. I was aprehensive about the whole thing, but was pleasantly suprised how easy it was. We're decidedly not city smart, but the area seems nice and parking/traffic wasn't bad. I think he's going to have a good summer, and I can't wait to join him for long weekends when school lets out.
This week at school has actually been busy, because it's spirit week and I'm the 9th grade class sponsor. And things at school are never dull for me to begin with. I've enjoyed coming home at night and then watching 30 Rock. I'm really behind with t.v. shows, and I've enjoyed watching the first three seasons of the show. Now I can't wait to see the rest of it on DVD.
In preparation for Spirit Day I've had to go to Target, and of course checked out their clothes. While Target's clothes can sometimes be a miss, sometimes Target really gets it right. My bridesmaids are wearing Target dresses (and in my humble opinion they are awesome). I also got a great summer dress and skirt from Target. Gingersnap has a post today about cheap thrills, and Target really is a thrill for me. And with my income, priced just right. I was tempted to buy this dress, but refrained. The dress doesn't flatter me as much as I need, but at the same time the pattern is really cute. It would be a great summer dress, except it has a lining that could be hot. But it's hard for me to resist the pink!
I'm moving the boy up to DC today. I realized that last night was the last night the boy would be hanging out in my apartment. I'll be moving out of my apartment soon, moving around for the summer, and then when we'll be moving in together right before the wedding. Exciting changes.
There are few people who can match his awesomeness, so I'm wishing him the best birthday he can possibly have. I think he will have a good one, because unlike last year he's getting to spend it with me. And where ever I am, there WILL be cake. Readers, I can't wait to marry him.
Finally, Friday is here! This weekend will be a busy one. The boy's birthday is tomorrow, and on Sunday he's moving to DC for his summer internship. I know it will only be a few weeks before school lets out and I can go visit him whenever I please, but I will miss him so.
In good things, my favorite band Keane came out with a new albulm, so that will give me something new to listen on my way to school. Also, the rain has left, bringing warm weather and some sunshine.
Even more exciting is my sister is taking a prelim today, bringing her one step closer to her doctorate in math. Woot woot!
And perhaps the happiest news is my little brother is closing on a house. My brother is going to be a homeowner. :)
May is a very busy month for me with Mother's day, the boy's bday, my sister's bday, and my mom's bday. This past weekend the boy and I celebrated him being down with exams, and I started to get my bday presents for everyone together. In other words, I was able to buy the boy a little something (beef jerky and a sweater) and my mom at least now has one gift. I wondered into Banana Republic on Sunday and they had 30 percent off of clearance, so I got the boy a blue sweater that he's already sporting. I was pleased, because I haven't bought him clothes in awhile.
On top of all the birthdays, my little brother is planning on proposing to his gf. They just went ring shopping, and he has his proposal plan in place. It's pretty crazy to think that he's going to be getting married! To celebrate, my sister and I are buying his gf this necklace from etsy at stuck in the coop.
I'm hopeful that it will turn out well. If it does, I'm going to buy one for my friend who is getting married in October. I think it would be a sweet shower gift.
After this last week, I'm taking this weekend slow and I'm thinking about this poem:
The Lake Isle of Innisfree I will arise and go now, and go to Innisfree, And a small cabin build there, of clay and wattles made: Nine bean-rows will I have there, a hive for the honey-bee, And live alone in the bee-loud glade.
And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow, Dropping from the veils of the morning to where the cricket sings; There midnight's all a glimmer, and noon a purple glow, And evening full of the linnet's wings.
I will arise and go now, for always night and day I hear lake water lapping with low sounds by the shore; While I stand on the roadway, or on the pavements grey, I hear it in the deep heart's core.
