Maintaining Momentum

Last week I did really great with my exercise program, and I really felt empowered. Last night, I came home from work and instead of jogging, I ate dinner and took a long nap. Laziness personified. I feel a little bit more motivated today (thanks to some sunshine), but it's still hard for me to overcome the feelings of exhaustion and hunger at the end of the day. I'm not a morning person at all, so exercising in the morning isn't really an option. So my question for you, is how do you push through all of that at the end of the day? I'd love to hear what helps you stay disciplined, because I'm sorely lacking.

My trick is just to remind myself how much better I will feel AFTER I accomplish the workout and I also sometimes just tell myself to go and workout for "10 minutes" because I know if I start, I'll complete the whole thing rather than only 10 minutes!

The dog keeps me disciplined. :) Seriously...I have to get him out everyday otherwise he drives me nuts.

It's always hard to get yourself to start running, but once you get out there it's really worth it.

I'm the exact same way. If it's ugly weather, I certainly come up with an excuse not to exercise :) Of course, that's one of many ;)

I'm lacking too. Luckily (hah) I Have this puppy who needs lots of exercise now. So I am kind of forced to take her on walks and she LOVES to run, which I do not. But I give in as much as I can! Good luck!

I find it helps to go to an aerobics class with a friend - even if I don't feel like going , I make the effort as I don't want to let her down!

I wanna know too, because I never have time to do anything! I work 10 hour days, do blog comments for two to three hours, and then write a post for a couple of hours. I squeeze in 6 hours of sleep too :)

When I'm in a workout rut, I buy new workout clothes to re-motivate myself. Looking cute for the gym puts me in a better mood and seems to get me moving!

Keep up the good work!! It can be so hard to stay motivated, but it is SO worth it when you do!
